Modular, dual-height pieces give you the flexibility to build the size and shape stage that you need to accommodate your event. Mobile
- Integral wheels facilitate unloading from the storage caddie and moving into position without any heavy lifting.
- Once in place, wheels automatically lift from the floor and each stage unit rests on non-marking glides
- Wheels are furnished on square and rectangular units, 16 inches high and taller.
Connectible
- Stage couplings are provided for securing adjacent stage sections
- Stage couplings lock into place and rotate out of the way for easy storage

Furnish a dual height portable stage system ___ ft. wide x ___ ft. deep x ____ inches high. The finished deck of the stage system shall have a (hardboard) (polypropylene) (carpet) surface. The legs of stage units shall fold for compact storage. Integral wheels fitted to one side of the platform legs shall allow easy handling during set up and tear down. The stage system shall be equal in size, capacity, quality and design of TransFoldT Portable Stages manufactured by Midwest Folding Products, Chicago, Illinois.
Capacity
All units must be designed to carry a uniform live load of at least 200 lbs. per square foot. Written laboratory test data must be submitted on request.
Decking
A solid, plywood core shall be surfaced with one of the following:
- 1/8” thick tempered hardboard
- Textured polypropylene
- Carpet
The decking shall measure at least 3/4” in thickness. The support frame shall cover the edges of the finished surface.
Frame
A 16 gauge, compound formed steel channel, 1 5/8” high shall be secured to the decking with screws from the underside of the platform. The frames shall completely enclose the top, bottom and edges of the decking perimeter preventing the decking and any specified surface from becoming loose or damaged. All areas where frame members are joined together shall be reinforced with concealed steel connectors.
Leg Assembly
Each welded leg assembly shall be constructed with 1.25” diameter, 14 gauge vertical load bearing receiver tubes fitted with adjustable inserts of 1.05” diameter, 14 gauge steel tubing. Inserts shall be zinc plated and capped at the point of floor contact with steel shell, high impact plastic glides. Inserts on one side of each platform shall be fitted with wheels that lift from the floor when the platform is in place for use. Inserts adjust vertically within the receiver tubes to two heights, eight inches apart. Each insert shall be secured with a 5/16” diameter clevis pin and a clamping hand knob. The vertical load bearing members shall be joined at the top by a full width, steel tube to provide maximum support to the stage deck. Each leg assembly shall fold open and closed, rotating within 16 gauge steel saddle clips that are secured to the deck with four screws. Leg assemblies shall be braced by spring-bolt type braces constructed of tandem sections of edge radiused flat bar 7/8” wide x 1/8” thick. Braces shall be secured to the leg assembly with two steel rivets and to the decking using a minimum of eight screws installed into the underside of the platform decking. Leg assemblies on 8” high units shall be of fixed height construction.
Couplings
Stage units shall be equipped with integral couplings that may be selectively engaged as needed to join platforms of the same height or platforms that are 8” different in height. Coupling devices not permanently attached are not acceptable.
Metal Finish
All metal parts, with the exception of adjustable leg inserts, shall be thoroughly cleaned, phosphatized and uniformly coated with thermofused epoxy powder coating by electrostatic process and then baked lo enhance their durability. All
painted metal components shall be furnished in black color.
