Midwest NLW Series Folding Tables - ABS Plastic
Hexalite folding tables meet the charnging needs of today's busy public assembly facilities. Our innovative construction utilitzes an aircraft grade, polypropylene honeycomb core that is epoxy bonded to a durable outer shell of thermoformed ABS plastic, the same material used to make pro football helmets. Add an internal, steel channel suppport frame and the most durable legs found anywhere in the industry and you have a lightweight table that anyone can handle, yet it is so durable that it is backed by a 15-year warranty. This may be the last table that you will ever need to buy.

Midwest ABS Plastic Specifications:
Top
Tops shall be constructed of an aircraft grade, honeycomb structural core of polypropylene plastic. Cells within the core shall not exceed ¼” spacing to ensure uniform support to the top surface. The exterior surfaces of the table shall be constructed of thermoformed, ABS plastic material, permanently bonded to the honeycomb core with epoxy adhesive. Edges of the table top are protected against impact with a profile extrusion of high-impact, PVC plastic molding that interlocks with and is permanently bonded to the ABS exterior of the table with epoxy adhesive. The molding shall incorporate a 5/32” thick bumper edge, backed by a tubular shaped, impact-absorbing reinforcement. There shall be no less than five layers of plastic to protect the edges of the table top. Corners of rectangular models are protected with rib reinforced, injection molded, PVC plastic sections that interlock with the edge molding. No wood products shall be used in the construction of table tops.
Leg Assemblies
All leg assemblies shall be wishbone style having vertical load bearing members of at least 1” diameter, 16 gauge, steel tubing. The upper, horizontal tube on leg assemblies shall rotate within two, 16 gauge steel saddle clips. Saddle clips shall be fastened to the table top using a minimum of four screws each. Leg assemblies are to be capped at the bottom with load bearing, high impact, plastic glides, secured with spring steel internal grippers. No horizontal members shall be positioned less than 12” from the floor to facilitate floor cleaning. For stability, no wishbone style leg assembly shall have an offset in the leg greater than five inches. Game tables and round tables 36” or less in diameter are furnished with four independent folding legs of 1-1/16” diameter, 14 gauge steel tubing. Comfort Leg assemblies shall be constructed of 1¼” diameter steel tubing and shall provide a minimum of 9“of free knee space on 18” wide tables.
Leg Brace Mechanisms
Leg braces shall be constructed of at least 7/8” wide x .125” thick, edge-radiused steel. Braces made of less than 11 gauge steel are not acceptable. For safety, braces shall lock automatically and remain locked when the table is in any position during folding and unfolding. Braces shall be designed and constructed to resist wear from frequent operation that could prevent the brace from locking the leg securely in place. Spring actuated devices with casehardened steel poppits are preferred. The leg brace pivot bracket shall be secured to the table top using a minimum of eight fasteners.
Leg and Brace Attachment
Legs and leg braces shall be anchored securely to 18 gauge steel anchor plates that are epoxy bonded to the polypropylene honeycomb core and the ABS bottom sheet, with a minimum of 32 sheet metal fasteners.
Metal Finish
All metal parts shall be thoroughly cleaned and phosphatized to enhance paint adhesion. Metal parts shall be then finished with a thermofused epoxy powdercoating.
Warranty
Hexalite™ Series Folding Tables shall be covered by a 15-year warranty
